چکیده

The increase in penetration of wind farms operating with doubly fed induction generators (DFIG) results stability issues such as voltage dips and high short circuit currents the case faults. To overcome these issues, to achieve reliable sustainable power from an uncertain source, fault current limiters (FCL) are incorporated. This work focuses on limiting level fulfilling reactive compensation a DFIG farm using capacitive bridge limiter (CBFCL). deliver grid, fuzzy-based CBFCL is designed for generating optimal suppress instantaneous drop during recovery state. performance proposed presented under condition account real-time conditions. show that offers more effective solution overcoming low ride through (LVRT) problem than traditional controller.

A New Method to Enhance the Low Voltage Ride Through Capability of Doubly Fed Induction Generator Using Resistive Type Superconducting Fault Current Limiter

In the event of voltage sag at the nearing of a wind park, severe currents may pass through the power electronic devices of the Doubly Fed Induction Generators (DFIGs). Hence, according to the Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) requirements, the wind parks are allowed to disconnect from the network after a certain time. Therefore, to avoid such actions, the LVRT requirement of wind parks is consid...

Low Voltage Ride-Through Capability Improvement of Doubly Fed Induction Generator using DVR and SMES

Abstract: With the growth of communities and the increasing need for electricity, and because of the many benefits of renewable energy sources, the wind turbine has become a completely commercial and inevitable process, with increasing penetration into the electricity grid. Distribution networks, on the other hand, are subject to fault that cause power fluctuations and outflow of wind units. In...

Proportional-Resonant Control of Doubly-Fed Induction Generator Wind Turbines for Low-Voltage Ride-Through Enhancement

A novel control strategy is proposed in this paper for the rotor side converter (RSC) of doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind power generation systems. It is supposed to enhance the low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) capability of DFIGs during great-level grid voltage dips. The strategy consists of a proportional-resonant (PR) controller and auxiliary PR controllers. The auxiliary cont...

High Voltage Ride Through with FACTS for Wind Turbines with Doubly Fed Induction Generator

In future grid codes wind farms will have to fulfill demanding fault ride through requirements. Among several grid faults the voltage swell is a critical event. Wind farms with doubly-fed induction generators will not be able to fulfill the new grid code requirements without additional fault mitigation equipment. In this publication the applicability of the Dynamic Voltage Restorer and the Stat...

Coordinated Control of a Doubly-Fed Induction Generator-Based Wind Farm and a Static Synchronous Compensator for Low Voltage Ride-through Grid Code Compliance during Asymmetrical Grid Faults

This paper aims to explore a viable solution for a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind farm to meet the reactive support requirement of the low voltage ride-through (LVRT) grid code with safe grid-connected operation during asymmetrical grid faults. First, the control scheme for the DFIG-based wind energy conversion system (WECS) is designed. Then, the controllability issue is anal...
